The Shadow Mode Proof: How to Test Bot Filtering With Zero Risk

Every bot detection company tells you the same thing: "We catch bots. Trust us." But how do you know? How do you verify that a tool is catching real bots and not just blocking your actual customers?

How Shadow Mode Works

What Happens in Shadow Mode

1. Every click is analyzed. All 13+ detection layers run on every request -- IP reputation, Sec-Fetch headers, ASN checks, Chrome version validation, TLS fingerprinting. Nothing is skipped.
2. Every click gets a verdict. Each request receives a trust score (0-10) and a classification (ACCEPT or BLOCK). Blocked clicks are tagged with specific reasons.
3. No click is actually blocked. Both accepted and "blocked" traffic passes through to your destination. Your campaigns run exactly as if PureGuard were not there.
4. All data is logged and aggregated. Zone-level statistics build up: accept rate, block rate, dominant bot signals, trust score distribution, device fingerprints.

The result: after a few days, you have a complete picture of your traffic quality without having changed anything about your live campaigns.

What the Setup Looks Like

Setup takes approximately 5 minutes:

1. Create your PureGuard account (free, no credit card)
2. Add your traffic source (PopAds, RollerAds, ZeroPark, etc.)
3. Set your destination URL (where clean traffic should go)
4. PureGuard generates a filtered URL for you
5. Replace your campaign's destination URL with the PureGuard URL

• Export your blocklist and apply it directly to your traffic source. Immediate budget savings without switching to Protect mode.
• Compare conversion rates between zones PureGuard classified as clean vs zones it classified as bots. If clean zones convert and bot zones do not, the detection is validated.
