Get the free WordPress plugin Create free accountEnter any IPv4 or IPv6 address and we return a full reputation report in a second: a 0–100 threat score, whether the IP is a proxy, VPN, TOR exit or datacenter/hosting network, its country, region and city, its ISP and ASN, and — uniquely — how that IP has actually behaved inside PureGuard's live bot-detection network. Your own IP is checked automatically when the page loads.
An IP address is the unique number every device uses to connect to the internet, like a return address on a letter. Websites see it on every request, which is why it's the starting point for spotting bots, fraud and abuse. There are two formats in use today: IPv4 (e.g. 8.8.8.8) and the newer IPv6 (e.g. 2001:4860:4860::8888). This tool reads both.
Not every IP is a real person at home. Traffic is often routed through intermediaries that hide the real source:
Bad IPs cost you money and skew your data: they inflate ad spend, poison analytics, scrape content, stuff credentials and hammer your server. Knowing an IP's reputation lets you block the abusers before they load your page — without touching your real visitors. That's exactly what the PureGuard WordPress plugin does automatically, using this same intelligence on every live visitor.
Most IP checkers just read a static list. PureGuard stacks three things a list can't:
On a live visitor, the plugin adds even more — browser integrity, TLS fingerprints and behavior that an IP lookup alone can never see. An 18-layer engine, free to look up here, working automatically on your site.
Yes — completely free and instant, with no signup. Just enter an IP.
City and region are approximate — IP geolocation is never street-accurate, and no service can be. Country and network (ISP/ASN) are highly reliable; the map shows an approximate area only.
It's a 0–100 risk rating combining proxy/VPN/hosting signals, our residential-proxy-pool intelligence, and the IP's behavioral history in our network. 0–19 is clean, 20–39 low, 40–59 medium, 60+ high risk.
Yes — your own IP is detected and checked automatically when you open this page.
Not necessarily — many real people use VPNs for privacy. It's a risk signal, not a verdict. That's why PureGuard weighs it alongside behavior and never blocks purely on a VPN flag.
